July 31st, 2007

Everyone experience a bad mood day then and there.

The reason behind mood swings can be many and sometimes without any reason too one might become moody. When there is an unusual mood swing or if the ability to function properly is curtailed, its time something is been done about it.

“Manic-depressive disorder or the bipolar disorder is also related to anxiety and stress.”

But it is a brain disorder and the severity of the mood swings, energy and functioning capacity can result in sizable damages to work, family and relationships. Sometimes this condition might also provoke the person to commit suicide.

This disorder however is curable if treated in time. This disorder mainly develops during the late adolescence or early adulthood. The sad part is that it is not known to be a disorder so many people suffer silently. The symptoms are many but some are highlighted here

  • Increased sexual need
  • General denial that of almost everything negatively
  • Huge spending
  • Irritability
  • Restlessness and over activity
  • Lack of concentration
  • Judgmental
  • Talking without any continuity or any meaning

Apart from these general symptoms for depression also can be experienced by people with this disorder.

Family history or genetics might also cause this disorder. Therefore consideration about the family history will be beneficial. It might also drive the person to contemplate suicide.

Bipolar disorder is recurrent so long-term medication or treatment process is necessary for long-term relief. Treatment can cure this disorder in time. With proper encouragement, support and love from the family members this disorder can be treated effectively. The family members should understand what the bipolar disorder is and how it is affecting the person?

They might also need psychotherapy or counseling on how to deal with the patient suffering from bipolar anxiety.

As it is a severe behavioral problem the people around the patient like the family members and colleagues have to cope up with the person and help him to come out such a self-wrecking illness.
