Marijuana And Anxiety Can Affect Any Day

August 8th, 2007

Anxiety can be caused by almost any reason in day-to-day life.

From the delayed employee turn out to the speeding buses and cars, anything, which affects the mind or body, can actually be the reason behind anxiety.

While playing a sport or writing an exam too a person might be anxious but that is a good form of anxiety as it will inspire and motivate the person to perform better. What really affects the overall performance and the productivity of a person is the extreme form of anxiety, wherein physical and mental symptoms like sweating, irritability, heart palpitations etc are experienced.

“Using alcohol or drugs like cannabis, hashish, pot, blow and marijuana can also cause anxiety.”

Young people who try these drugs experience this form of anxiety as the drugs these use cause paranoia. Marijuana affects the way the users thinks and thereby causes great anxiety and generally using the magic pills never helps overcome this problem.

What is marijuana? How does it affect the brain and the mind?

Marijuana is an illicit drug in many countries. It is a dry mix of the flowers, stems, seeds and leaves of the cannabis sativa plant and it is smoked as a cigar. It is also brewed and drank as a tea.

Prolonged usage will affect the user’s heart, lungs and brain. It also destroys the immunity of the person using it. It has the capacity to affect daily life as it creates depression, anxiety and personality disturbances.

Without treating the addiction it is really hard to focus just on anxiety treatment. Therefore the marijuana usage has to be curbed or dropped, if someone really wants to be free from anxiety. As the problem is cause by the drug it has to be removed by restraining from the drug for good.

Treatment for anxiety can be either psychoanalysis or through any other natural remedial measures.

Whatever the treatment the patient should never revert back to marijuana usage. Exposure and awareness about the drug and highlighting the effects of it can bring about a change in the society
