Clinical Depression Symptoms are Really Serious

Depression is rising at an alarming rate these days. It is very dangerous because it may lead a person even to the limit of attempting suicide. Depression is a serious mental and emotional disease. But you must know that the depressed person never asks for help. Because, he himself does not know that he is depressed. So you will need to be highly attentive. You must also concentrate properly. This disease is curable. But when it persists for many months, it may be clinical depression. Clinical depression takes time to get cured. You must take the person to the doctor, as he needs professional help.

There are many causes of depression. Some of them are hereditary and hormonal, while some of them may be due to some incident. In some cases, it may be due to environmental condition or socio-economic background.

You must be cautious of a person as he may also attempt suicide, if the frustration rises beyond a certain level. But to study the symptoms of clinical depression is really important to know the symptoms of depression.

  • Loss of interest and self worth: The person loses interest in daily activities. The productivity at work also drops. He/she feels upset all the time, with or without reason. The person simply feels worthless. He feels that he is worth nothing.
  • Disinterest in socialization: He does not like to socialize and go out. Sometimes the person also hates to go out of home. He wants to sit at home and not face the world.
  • Fatigue: There will be constant fatigue. The depressed person would develop continuous headaches and stomach aches very similar to ulcer pains, chest pains and so on. On checking out with a doctor, they would not indicate that anything is amiss.
  • Low self-esteem is also a biggest symptom: The person would not mind any mistreatment from anybody, because they would really believe that they were not worth any better treatment. They feel worthless.
  • Insomnia: They also suffer from sleepless nights. They do not get good sleep. They get bad dreams.
  • Lack of appetite: The person does not feel like eating and avoids any stuff. Even his favorite food is ignored.
  • Believing the things that are not really there: The person suffering from clinical depression tends to believe those things, which does not even exist. They also develop fear for many things.

If you concentrate then you will find that these are nothing but the symptoms of clinical depression.

You will be happy to hear that if you do not want to take those chemical medicines, you may also rely on natural remedy. There are medications for depression, but it's still better to use natural remedies. The John's Wort is a special herb, which is famous for the treatment of depression. Have you heard of acupuncture? There is acupuncture, which has been proven highly effective, excellent (if I may say) in any some of the cases. It is very popular remedy.

Yoga and meditation is also very good remedy for depression. Spirituality is also a good idea and it will never harm to tell prayers to God. Prayers, medicines and meditation will help you beat depression totally. As a matter of fact, turning to your faith when you are depressed makes you feel great.

Sometimes lack of various nutrients lead to depression. Thus you must nurture your body to get various essential elements. Your health is highly influenced by the type of food you eat, hence it is important to pay attention to the nutrition of the clinically depressed person exhibiting symptoms.
