Manic Depression Truly Painful: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

You are a wonderful and intelligent person, and you feel that you have nothing. In spite a great family, and you want to die, you are suffering from manic depression. Manic depression makes life upside down. You have a good job, a good family, a good environment, but still you want to commit suicide. This is what is manic depression. As a matter of fact this is the greatest of the manic depression patients - the threat that they would choose to commit suicide, and many times succeed at it.

But how will you know about the person's suffering? You will need to learn to read the warning signs and act accordingly. When manic depression affected person is feeling high, you will find him/her bubbling with energy and positive feelings. Nothing can be wrong, nothing can go wrong; and if something does go wrong, then it can be handled. Everything is fine and the person feels just great.

But there are constant mood swings and when the moods are on the reverse, the slightest trigger can have the person shut down totally. The person will feel totally sick, anxious, worthless, and guilty and he/she will be totally unable to apply any logic to the way he/she feels. Then there will be fatigue, insomnia, restlessness, lack of appetite etc.

Manic depression unfortunately is incurable and people who suffer from it will have to deal with it throughout their life. Of course, medication and therapy help to a great extent, as is the continuous and unstinted support of spouses, family and friends. Manic depression is tough to handle and it will take a lot of courage and strength to keep it away once it steps into the doors.

The good news is that it is possible through yoga and meditation. There are millions of people out there, who know they are suffering from manic depression and they are making the best of their lives with the right medication, meditation and therapy. The problem is when the person does not know they are suffering from this malady.

Yoga has been proved to be something really effective. Yoga is practiced by, the Asians since ancient times. Many people rely on this for various ailments and problems. If you are depressed you will have many other problems in the form of diabetes, cholesterol, cardiac problems etc. Effects of depression are heart threatening. You may lose your loved one. Yoga is really very good alternative. There are various problems that can be solved with the help of yoga. You must also practice certain meditation techniques and breathing techniques. This will be helpful to you. It will work as natural depression medication.

You may take the depressed person to a hill station or all together at a new place to keep the person away from routine. This will make his mind fresh. Depression is a mental disease that affects not only the person, but, his entire family. So it has to be attended with thorough patience. Rather than using the chemical anti depression medication, you should go for exercise, fresh air, and meditation.

You must make him positive. You must tell him that life is truly a gift. God gave this gift to you. Now how do you live it is your gift to God. You must nurture this precious gift. Life is too short to be brooded over. You must enjoy it thoroughly. Live it to the fullest. Live like it was your last day and see, how you will get rid of any feelings that depress you. If you feel down, look at the people, who do not even get a plain bread to eat. If you had a bad relationship, think of a person, who did not even know what is to be loved. If you are depressed over losing a job, think of a person, who has been jobless for many months. You have right to move ahead and be ambitious. But you have to work towards it. You have to put in efforts. There is simply no point in brooding or getting depressed. You should be happy with what ever you are and what ever you have.
