Depression and Anxiety Medication

Depression is really harmful for health, in case of both mind and body. Depression makes life of a person ridiculous. The person suffers from many problems due to depression. Depression has been a sole reason for cardiac arrests and diabetes in some cases. Depression is mainly due to unhealthy and stressful lives. Sometimes hormonal imbalance may also lead to depression. There are other reasons of depression including genes, environmental influence, sad incident etc. The person almost loses his self worth. Not just this he suffers from low self esteem and loses himself.

Anxiety and depression go hand in hand. This must be remembered. There have been many cases when anxiety has tempted a person to commit suicide. As regards to medication, there are various thoughts that have prevailed. There is a lot of talk about the comprehensive advertising campaigns related to depression and anxiety medication. The talk comes from two opposing schools of thought on the issue. One led by many psychologists do not believe in the production or distribution of medication to help assist with psychological disorders such as depression or any anxiety disorders. The other school of thought supports depression and anxiety medication production and believes in the powerful cure of medication as a probable better way in which to deal with the problems of the mind. Both, coincidentally, have strong support from the psychiatric community.

A lot of the psychologists from the first school of thought say that advertising for depression and anxiety medication assert that the psychological disorders involved with depression or anxiety may be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. They furthermore assert that the commercials suggest that with their product, the balance can be restored. The truth about depression and anxiety related disorder is that a chemical imbalance is typically understood as being only one component in the cause of such a disorder. There are multiple other factors that the makers of such drugs do not consider when they are selling their products to confused sufferers. There may be depression due to surrounding conditions, family background, some really sad incident etc. These things are skipped.

The truth is that biological factors, psychological factors, and a variety of social factors can all contribute and cause depression or anxiety related problems. Thus only those people, who suffers from some chemical imbalance fall in the clutches of depression is false notion. You must also consider various other factors that make you do this stuff. If some death happens in a family, the entire family may be affected emotionally. There will be depressive waves in that house. It does not mean that this situation will be permanent. The situation is temporary and people will definitely cope up with the pain with the passage of time.

Depression is a psychological and emotional problem. The severity and intensity differs from person to person. Thus the advertisers must know that their product will not cater to the needs of the entire depressed human race. As there are differences in the behavior and attitudes of the person, the treatment should change accordingly. For some depression may be a temporary phase. But some people suffer for a long time. Thus the medications may not be effective to all. This is not a general medicine as in case of headache and cold. Advertisers must understand this and they must not generalize the use of the product.

Depression requires treatment that is for sure. But only the pills that are available in the market may not be the solution. Different people have different traumas. Thus you must not generalize the use of over the counter products. Yoga is a good solution. It definitely works as a good alternative for anxiety and depression medication.

There are various meditation techniques that can help to reduce stress and build a mechanism to fight against negative thoughts. There will be relaxation with yoga and meditation.

Depression and anxiety medication is available in the market. But they advertise the product to cure depression. But the reality is that these medicines work against the depression as caused by the chemical changes that take place in the brain and body. But not everyone gets depressed just because of this.
