Demoralisation

Some patients with PD or PD/agoraphobia (about 30%) develop feelings of sadness, guilt, anhedonia. Generally, this state may be considered as psychological demoralization due to the fact that their ability to live normally and to achieve social goals is seriously compromised by the disorder; in other cases, however, the possibility of a true depressive episode must be taken into account.
