Beta Blockers of Social Phobias

Beta-blockers are used when cardiovascular symptoms and tremor are prominent, appear to be of use in specific SP, such as public speaking or other performance phobias, whereas they have a limited efficacy in the generalised form of SP. Their use is not generally indicated since they may have deleterious effects, especially in patients with asthma.
